Montessori Children's House


Since we began with our small class of seven preschoolers in 1971, we have seen many students become productive adults. Happily, many continued to share milestones with us, including high school and college graduations, marriages, and the births of their own children. But the highest accolade we receive is from the many former students who have enrolled their children here. We are proud to have had such a positive and meaningful impact on so many lives.
Although the Montessori system does not generally administer traditional tests, particularly at the preschool level, we do evaluate our students’ progress continuously. At the elementary level, progress is determined by our own observations and measures as well as with traditional tests. Though we are not required to do so, we do administer AIMS testing most years.
	In 2003, we administered the 3rd grade AIMS test to our 2nd and 3rd year students. All students met or exceeded the standard for reading and math and 92% met or exceeded the standard for the writing portion.
